I wasn’t sure if I should get a Bissel or Hoover but after reading the reviews on Amazon.com decided to go with the Hoover and am happy I did. I have carpet that is 5 years old and has never been cleaned. It was literally black in the high traffic areas. After using the Hoover the carpet looks brand new!! The rinse feature is great so I am sure all of the soap has been removed. The carpet dried very fast, about 1/2 hour after cleaning. Also, every piece of the cleaner comes off so you can rinse any accumulated gunk out.
I also own a Bissell Petbot that is great for removing small spots. The only problem is it gets the carpet so clean you see round circles of clean carpet. Once the Hoover Dual V was used over these areas, the entire carpet is the same color - clean!

this carpet cleaner is a good one,lite weight and smooth easy to set up and easy to use, I cleaned my great room in 3 hours from start to finish. Carpet looks and feels new again!

After owning three of those machines, Not only have I gone to another make of machine but have sworn off Hoover for any of their products. Three machines, from two stores and all failed because of the motor. On two the motor continued to run but the brushes failed, the other two continued for a short time until they too smelled of burnt wiring and started making a high pitched sound. I contacted Hoover several times and was ignored until when asked if this product had a design flaw they said that ‘Sometimes’ the plastic screwdrive that powers the brushes gets stuck and can be fixed by using an allenwrench in the socket. Worked once. Pretty clear they knew they had a bad design when the reply was ‘Canned’ since it was not written to me. I’ve also noticed our local big box store does not carry it any more due to the returns. Two of which were mine. Buy any other product other than this Hoover and I’m quite sure you won’t go wrong.

It’s fantastic the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the soap tank is leaky,but that is acceptable. The best carpet cleaner I have ever used period.

I owned a Bissell Pro-Heat for 8+ years. Once you have any problems with it..it is toast. It will cost you more in repair cost than it is worth. So, once your Pro Heat breaks down go ahead and get one of these Hoover Pro V’s. You will notice immediately an improvement in the cleanliness of your carpet. Yeah its made of plastic, but what do expect for about $180. It will pay for itself over time, or you can call a professional and pay more. Just like any thing you have.. take care of it..clean it thoroughly after every use..it will last longer.
Pros:
1.# Cleans better than the Bissell Pro Heat. Cost is about the same
2.) Does not seem to use as much carpet cleaner #which is expensive) as the Bissell.
3.) Better suction than Bissell..carpet will dry faster.
4.) The spinning brushes seem to do better on carpet in general and stains.
5.) One tank for hot water and carpet cleaner and separate tank for dirty water..which I like better over the Bissell.
6.) Easy to clean after use.
7.) Removeable hose caddy. You don’t have to carry around what your not using.
8.) Easy to use. Follow instructions carefully for best cleaning results.
Cons:
1.) Heavier/Bulkier than the Bissell Pro Heat.
2.) Made of mostly plastic..but is’nt everything?
This carpet machine should pay for itself over time…when it has a major break down I’ll buy another.
