“I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner at all!” 2009-12-05
By J. Clark (Hood River, Oregon)
We had this vacuum cleaner purchased to use in cleaning our church. I had high hopes but was soon disappointed with how it did not hold together. The BIGGEST problem was the wheels on the rug head. They fell off constantly forcing us to use duct tape and other measures just to keep it functioning. The hose connection is also weak and it would either overheat and quit or lose the connection, we are not sure which. We finally had to buy another vacuum cleaner after just two years, but for the money, this should last for years. Move on with your search, in the long run this vacuum cleaner has too many faults and I want to save you that frustration.

The vacuum is great but the brush head isn’t adjustable so it doesn’t work as good as it should on carpet. I would get a different model if I had a lot of carpet in my house

“This vacuum sucks — real good.” 2009-12-03
By Ho Nam (Washington, DC United States)
I bought this vacuum because I live with two cats in a partially carpeted home. Much of my furniture is always covered with cat hair. This vacuum comes with a component with a small moving brush designed to clean furniture. I love everything about this quiet vacuum cleaner. Here are a few items where Hoover can do to improve it. The manual should indicate where some of the components are stored inside the vacuum cleaner. These are very well concealed and when I received my first delivery, I sent it back because I thought I received an incomplete item. It was only when I received my second vacuum that my girlfriend noticed there was a hidden compartment where the components where stowed. Also, the manual does not indicate how to fit the components. The way these components fit in the handle does not seem like a natural fit. They do fit, but I wasn’t sure if I did it right. I also wish it had a pivoting hose that turn in place instead of ending up with a twisted hose. Good suction power with a button to choose power level and a large lighted display that indicates which level you’re on. The controls on the handle are very convenient and ergonomically designed. Very easy to assemble. It took me less than five minutes. It’s easy to clean the canister and easy to observe that it has been filled to the max.

 “Do not buy” 2009-12-03
By S. Bouza (Norwalk, CT USA)
I spent hours and hours researching vacuums, ultimately deciding on this one. This is the first vacuum I have ever owned. I am not terribly pleased with it.

Bagless is just plain dumb. It is incredibly messy to empty. Yea you just flip it upside down in a garbage can, but so much dust gets in the air. And the canister never looks clean like the day you first get it because the dust sticks to it. Even the outside gets covered in a thin film of dust, you would need to use a wet paper towel to wipe it down.

This reason alone makes me want to buy a new vacuum. The whole purpose of a vacuum is to clean. It brags of a hepa filter, but what good does it do when you have a messy method of emptying all the dirt? Yea I suppose its more environmentally friendly because it doesnt use bags, but I think your better off finding a bagged vacuum and dealing with buying bags. Maybe there is a brand out there that makes eco freindly bags. That would be your best bet.

As a vacuum, it does a good job collecting dirt. The controls on the handle are a nice feature. The capet tool works well. As others have said, the attachments are lacking. The bristles on the brush are too stiff to be of any useful cleaning purpose. Hose length is adequate, not amazing, but it gets the job done. Retractable code is nice, works well. No place to store two of the attachments is also dumb, they should have sacrificed some looks and made a home for the other attachments.

I think I will sell this vacuum on ebay and buy a BAGGED version.

I would definitely recommend the Hoover WindTunnel. I have all hardwood floors and it works well in picking up small dust and larger particles. Easy to operate and lightweight. I also love the attachment for stairs, works great!
