My upright vacuum died unexpectedly so I consulted Consumer’s Reports and made Amazon purchase of this unit due to its high rating. IT arrived very quickly, was super simple to make the handle attachment, then I set about using it. WHOA Nelly - this baby pulls itself forward - kind of like a “self propelled” lawn mower does! Very interesting as I then noted my energy was mostly expended on the “return stroke” (you know - it pulls itself forward where you steer it, then you pull it back before you steer it forward again). But not that I’m complaining about that - just is an observation. So I thought I would vacuum a bedroom that is little used and had been vacuumed with my old unit just a week before - and I was amazed at the amount of fibers etc that this vacuum accumulated in its dirt canister! So then it was time to empty the canister - well I strongly recommend one does this outside of your home into a bag or other receptacle because the fact you can release a latch and the dirt “drops out” is true but in order to get “stuff” from around the interior edges to drop out, you MUST tap the canister collection unit - and that’s when the dust cloud arises. Since I always go out to my 55g rollaround garbage bin to empty my vacuum canisters - this not a huge inconvenience to me but I mention it because I recall Hoover citing the “open latch, dirt falls out” as part of their marketing pitch.
Would I recommend this reasonably priced and strong performing vacuum to others! absolutely - especially if like me, you have no stairs to vacuum, or climb with this unit to the upper floor.

This is a great vacuum so far. I’ve had it for almost three months now. I researched Consumer Reports and read a ton of reviews for this model before purchasing. It arrived quickly and packaging was all in tact and not banged up - so I trusted the vacuum inside would be in good shape, and it was. So far, it has great suction and is very easy for me to push - being a petite person. I’ve also used the hose attachment on multiple occasions, and it works just as well as the overall vacuum. A previous reviewer mentioned that their on/off switch broke off… Mine did not break, but due to the strange placement and construction, I am being very gentle when pushing it. The on/off switch is located on the handle of the vacuum, and is this strange sliding piece of plastic. If I experience any negative aspects, I will update with a new review. In the mean time, this was my first vacuum purchase ever and I would recommend it to others.

Following a best buy review in Consumer Reports we were delighted to find the item at Amazon. It is powerful and does the job! With two cats in the house we were interested in the pet hair attachment, which did not work as well as we would like; however, the regular part of the machine did the job. Great price and fast shipping. We are most pleased.

One problem, otherwise I would give it 5 out of 5. One of the attachments (sort of looks like a mini-vacuum) did not work after a couple of uses. I see others have that problem. It is too bad because the mini attachment worked really well for things like couches and curtains (if you have animals). Other than that, it is a great vacuum for the price I paid which was a hundred and fifty dollars. This has better reviews than almost all other brands no matter what the price. Get this.

I spent so much time reviewing vacuums! Even Consumer’s Report. Why did I not see the reviews that said you must constantly empty this bagless one over and over during each use, even though it isn’t full, because the screen gets blocked. Which means you’ll have a cloud of dust! So go outside in the cold and wind or look out! And you’ll have to reach in and clean the screen in between the clear collector and the filter with your bare hands! My 2 cats don’t shed much, but their fur catches across that screen and I have to reach in and scrape it off by hand. Yuck! Otherwise the suction stops. I’ve had it for a few months and already the belt has snapped. It barely shows any wear on the belt at all! I have never even disliked a vacuum before. This one I despise!
